Description

The GT-540P is a GPRS Enabled Device (just add a SIM card), which can be used as a Remote Data Logger or as part of a Remote Machine-to-Machine (M2M) solution.

It features a high-performance 32-bit processor, GPRS/GSM module, GPS Receiver, 6 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs, 1 analog input, 2 RS-232, 1 RS-485 and an SD card interface. Additional I/O can be added using up to 3 modules from the M-7000 Modbus RTU range of Data Acquisition units. NOTE: To change the M-7000 units address and channel settings, you will need to use the DCON utility software on a PC, with the M-7000 connected via a RS485 Converter (e.g. I-7561, which can be found under the Recommended Products area below). The GT-540P has two modes of operation:

1.     Data Logging: Record local I/O data to its SD Card and send as CSV file attachment via e-mail after a defined period.

2.     Modbus mode: Transfer local I/O data to a Server using GPRS. Monitoring software on the Server (such as our Orchestrator package) would access this data using either Modbus or OPC protocol. Data can be transferred either by a defined period or by DI/AI triggers.

Functionality is available on the GT-540P for simple I/O linkage, offering some real-time control between the local I/O.It also supports Li-ion battery as another power source when the main power is failed temporarily.

Features

  • Easy to Establish GPRS Network Application
The GT-540P can contain a SIM Card with a dynamic IP address. By using the GT-540P with the M2M RTU center software, dynamic IP addresses can be managed between them. The remote GPRS RTU product would connect to M2M RTU Center automatically. Therefore, all remote GPRS RTU devices can be managed by single centralized M2M GPRS RTU Center software with a public fixed IP address.
There is also a M2M API tool and OPC server so that engineers can develop their own GPRS applications using VB, VC or SCADA development tools conveniently without any IP address management effort.
  • Transfer data by e-mail
  • As well as transferring data by the general GPRS communication with the M2M RTU center, users can choose the e-mail mode which can send the data by e-mail over GPRS at a defined time.
  • Modbus RTU device connectivity
The GT-540P has built-in Modbus RTU protocol. This allows any Modbus RTU device to connect to the GT-540P. By using the GT-540, Modbus RTU devices can be used in a GPRS remote system. The max. number of Modbus RTU devices that can be connected to the GT-540P is three.
  • Simple Local I/O link Control
Apart from data being sent to a server and controller from there, the GT-540 also has the capability to use pre-defined local control. For example: If a Digital Input Status changes or an Analog channel goes into High or Low Alarm, a Digital Output could be triggered locally. This can be on the integrated I/O channels or using channels on connected M-7000 range ModBus RTU Data Acquisition modules.
  • Built-in I/O Data Logging
The GT-540P also has a SD card interface. The local I/O and Modbus data can be recorded on a SD memory card, with each days data held in a single file.
  • The GT-540P includes a GPS Receiver to also record position data.
  • Supports 3.7V Li-ion Battery backup
