The PISO-P8R8U card is the new generation card is designed as a direct drop-in replacement for the PISO-P8R8, without the need for software/driver modification.
The PISO-P8R8U universal PCI card supports 3.3 V/5 V PCI bus. This card provides 8-channels of optically isolated DI and 8-channels of electromechanical relay outputs.
These DI channels provide 3750 Vrms isolation protection that allow the input signals to be completely floated so as to prevent ground loops while also isolating the host computer from damaging voltages. Relays are used where necessary to control a circuit using a low-power signal (with complete electrical isolation between the control and controlled circuits), or where several circuits must be controlled using one signal. The PISO-P8R8U can be used in varous applications, such as controlling the ON/OFF state of external devices, driving external relays or small power switches, activating alarms, contact closure, sensing external voltages or switches, etc. The card contains a single DB-37 connector for easy wiring.
The PISO-P8R8U also adds a Card ID switch on-board. Users can set Card ID and then recognize the board by the ID via software when using two or more PIO-P8R8U cards in one computer.
These cards support various OS versions, such as Linux, DOS, Windows 98/NT/2000 and 32/64-bit Windows 7/Vista/XP. DLL and Active X control together with various language sample programs based on Turbo C++, Borland C++, Microsoft C++, Visual C++, Borland Delphi, Borland C++ Builder, Visual Basic, C#.NET, Visual Basic.NET and LabVIEW are provided in order to help users quickly and easily develop their own applications.
Includes one CA-4002 D-Sub connector.
NOTE: Compared to PCI-P8R8, the PISO-P8R8 has all form A relays rather than 50/50 Form A/FormC with higher current output rating on a shorter PCB.
