Just added to our site are a range of 2 and 4 port PCI Serial Cards, offering either RS232 or RS422 and RS485 ports.

An easy way to add extra serial devices to your computer. These cards come in standard PCI format, while the latest variants are now available in Universal-PCI format.

Each card has a DIP switch to allow a manual setting of the COM port numbers. This makes it simpler for maintenance and mass system installation where the address needs to be the same as the previous cards or systems, rather than that set by a plug-n-play utility. Automatic COM port selection is still available if required.

All the cards have TVS Diode ESD-protection to protect against high voltages, while some cards also have photo isolation to further protect your system and equipment in the harshest conditions.

The "Self-Tuner" chip provides automatic control of the receiving and sending direction of the RS485 ports. This chip overcomes many timing issues associated with enabling and disabling transmitters, greatly simplifying programming.
