InstruNet is a family of Data Acquisition Units designed to give the flexibility of Distributed Devices with the performance of Data Acquisition PC card. The external boxes contain signal conditioning amplifiers for each channel, and can therefore directly attach to sensors such as thermocouples, RTD's, strain gages, resistance sources, current sources, and voltage sources; and then return engineering units (e.g. "Volts","Amps"). To control these external units, an Instrunet PCI or PCMCIA card is required. These cards handle all the real-time activity thus removing the load on the host computer. Each controller card can operate upto 8 Inet-100 devices at a distance upto 300m from the host PC. The Inet-200 Controller also has 10off Digital Input/Output channels which can operate in Clock Output, Period Measurement and Pulse Counter Modes as well as standard Digital I/O. Each Inet-100 Card has 8 Differential or 16 Single-ended Analog Inputs, 8 Analog Output channels and 8 Digital I/O bits. The -100B unit has additional BNC Connectors as an alternate connection for the 16off Single-ended Analog I/P channels. The -100HC unit is the same as the -100 unit but with the voltage outputs having a larger drive capability, which can be useful for strain applications. |
