The RS-405FC series is a range of real-time redundant ring switches from ICPDAS. The RS-405FC is a Redundant Ring Switch which has 3 Ethernet Ports (10/100 Base-T ) with 2 Fibre Optic Ports (100 Base-FX, SC Connector). They can be used for several different applications including:

  • Link-lose-backup in the industrial field application. The ring topology quickly provides an alternative path should a network node or cable segment fail.
  • A cost effective redundant ring Ethernet LAN can be configured by mixing RS-405FC with other low cost unmanaged Ethernet Switches such as the NS-205/208 series
  • Ring Coupling : To join seperate ethernet rings together (such as over different floors or buildings).

  • The RS-405FC series are equipped with 2 power inputs, which are redundant of each other.
  • The relay output facility can deliver a warning signal on power or link failure
  • Modbus/TCP protocol Supported : This allows the administrator of an Ethernet LAN, through SCADA software, to obtain information regarding the condition and individual port status of the RS-405FC.
