A range of PCI (and Universal PCI) Multiport Serial Cards offering extra serial ports in either RS232, RS422 or RS485 format. The VXC multi-port serial card enables the user to increase the number of additional communication ports on their PC, allowing more serial devices such as PLC's, Meters, laboratory instruments, modems, card readers, RFID / Barcode readers, sensors etc. to be connected to your PC. Key features include: - Built-in COM-Selector : For large systems or to prevent confusion from other Plug-n-Play devices, a DIP switch is provided to physically set the COM port numbers, rather than using the default automatic settings.
- Universal PCI : Several of the cards are now available in Universal PCI format (3.3V & 5V buses) with more due soon.
- ESD Protection : The VXC cards offer TVS diode ESD protection technology, protecting your system from being damaged by the high potential voltages.
- Self-Tuner : The VXC card is equipped with a “Self-Tuner” chip to control the sending/receiving direction of RS-485 ports automatically. This overcomes timing issues with enabling and disabling the RS485 transmitter for direction control, while also simplifying programming.
- Isolation : Some of the VXC cards include photo-isolation to protect the cards etc where large voltages/spikes may be present.
